Retreating to a “country” restriction vs. religion restriction seems like sensible move for @realDonaldTrump. Bonus: He’ll still be attacked

@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump problem: recognizing ISIS as a country could be hard sell.
@kausmickey @RealDonaldTrump Market as expansion (not retreat). Pause for all Syrians (not just SY Muslims who can lie abt religion), etc.
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump he’s not gonna do that. He’s already won this point
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump word the @RandPaul proposal makes more sense and is actually enforceable. I keep waiting for Trump to refine it
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump Don’t think it will happen. What more dangerous, a Christian from Syria or Muslim from Indonesia?
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump as well as any religion subverting U.S. Constitution is out of the boundaries of a religion and must go.
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump But what about this? https://t.co/3FoPEh06Pb
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump Retreating to a non-discriminatory moratorium on ALL immigration would be even more sensible.
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump he should’ve started there to begin so wudnt have to back track
And just to make it all “consistent with our values” and a “reflection of who we are”, how about we exclude countries from US visa eligibility based on those values, i.e. if you take diplomats as hostages (Iran), your citizens cannot have visas. If you do not practice religious tolerance or punish “apostasy” with death, you cannot have visas (Saudi Arabia). You get the jist – use “our values” to target sharia, FGM, “jizya”, hostility towards Israel, etc. Exclude on THAT basis!
@kausmickey @realDonaldTrump Easier to implement. Across the board moratorium from all countries less discriminative.
@lukelea @kausmickey @realDonaldTrump More practical, but an across the board Muslim ban would be better for the country overall.
