The anti-Trump people are despairing. Half the pro-Trump people are despairing. Silicon Valley was going to save us and now we hate them too. Future a grim merit caste system & then the robots. (Hope I'm in a bad mood.) https://t.co/bp8Ayd3oGb

The (nominal) pro-Trump people who are despairing are those who think they will lose their sinecure. Most places consist of people-working-their-asses-off and people-drinking-coffee-and-bitching-all-day. The people-working-their-asses-off want automation so that they can be people-drinking-coffee-and-bitching-all-day. Automation requires trained people. Traditionally blue-collar-union. Trimming bushes and mowing grass should be done by goats not people. Houses could be rebuilt or constructed so that little if any maintenance is required. Restrict immigration and this will happen. Also a baby boom of self training individuals (racist comment; always get an increase in things subsidized/rewarded).
Silicon Valley has always been a stock-price-ponzi-scheme. Gates is despised by people in the know. Weasel elevated by an IBM purchasing decision. Jobs was admired and hated. Geniuses always are by their rivals (See Nikola Tesla). Remember Digital Equipment Corporation? How about Compaq? Silicon Valley is going to save who from what? The thing about a ponzi is to be first out the door and be out of claw-back reach. (China and Germany ponzi’s are looking a little wobbly. Immigration ponzi is collapsing.)
