Best part of this piece about alleged Klain-replacement-in-waiting Anita Dunn advising Harvey Weinstein is her PR firm’s too-slick response: “If you know Anita, you can only imagine what she said to him.” (No, we don’t and we can’t.) https://t.co/bZtMf76fBr

Good thread. But it raises the question: What was the story with the UK judge in the 2020 case (decided against Depp)? https://t.co/5ecICcvFav Did Depp not present this evidence in UK? https://t.co/VNrphXpYXI

Has a good graf on insanity of Hatch Act: “Lawyers…needed to review Biden’s new ‘ultra MAGA’ line in order for government-salaried aides to be allowed to repeat it….’Congressional Republicans’ was allowed.. but using ‘Republicans’ generally was also deemed too political.” https://t.co/vX1HssaJJE

All about WH messaging! “Deeper dysfunction” also about messaging. Seems obvious the problem is not messaging. (Problem is substance of Biden statements and specific decisions — eg mistakes — his WH has made. Duh.) https://t.co/M3K9A6o1DX

Unable to say ‘no’ to Dem idealists, ignores warnings from realists, founders when Dems’ impulse that they can’t do too much in a good cause crashes into reality that they can.

Second Question: Does Biden care (if he hurts a deal) or does he mainly want an issue against GOPs (which he gets if they tank the bill)?
My guess is the former. He cares (and wants to take credit for any impending deal). But he thinks he’s more eloquent & effective than he is.— Mickey Kaus (@kausmickey)

Will Biden’s speech actually help negotiations for a gun deal or hurt them by politicizing the issue even more (and making it harder to get the needed 10 GOP votes)? My guess is the latter. https://t.co/aFejnUQoXm
