For the record, results of first round of voting at this caucus were: Sanders 46; Biden 25; Steyer 16 (viable); Warren 6 (not viable); Uncommitted 2. Everybody else zero. Threshold for viability was 15.

Problem 2: Caucus not told about early voters. Maybe there weren't any (???). But those who did vote early couldn't know which others were viable. They might've voted for other non-viable candidates as choices 2 and 3 (eg Amy/Pete/Warren) and wasted those 2d and 3d choice votes.

Problem 1: Buttigieg & Kobuchar both got 0 on first vote. That's deceptive. Clumps of voters gathered under signs. When one group-I think Buttigieg, on left-realized it wouldn't be viable, they all went over to Bernie BEFORE they were counted. "1st vote" not like a primary vote. pic.twitter.com/PWYQLV6hFn

Dem caucus for shift workers at casinos around the Wynn on the strip. Dem-trained worker ran it efficiently; I'm sure result was roughly in line with sentiment. 1. Sanders 2. Biden 3. Steyer. But there are some obvious problems … pic.twitter.com/Ctw3Bgm1Ar

Also: Can the negotiators see the 3d choices of early voters while they are negotiating the 2d vote based on their second choices? Could affect outcome–eg if, say, you know there is huge Buttigieg 3d choice vote out there, Klobuchar people might want to head it off.

NEVADEBACLE? Seems complex to sluice early vote rankings into moving-target viability negotiations. Do the negotiators at the caucus know the early vote 2d choice rankings or are they added later? Could produce different results, no? https://t.co/S9lth2guLd https://t.co/4mlOvJCB9c

So if you vote early in the Nevada caucus your vote will be counted. But what if your candidate isn't viable? If you attend the caucus you can switch to another candidate for the 2d vote. But if you voted early & aren't there I assume you're out of luck? https://t.co/9cXHZf1ArL

I don't *think* Trump repeated Mulvaney's 'we're desperate for more immigrants' call at his Vegas rally (but I didn't listen to the whole thing). Trump does spend a lot of time talking about the wall. Must be campaign season. https://t.co/Qj1sT65rna

Biden: "The middle class are getting killed right now." He talks movingly about how dads who lost jobs used to tell their children, "It's going to be OK," Not sure about that anymore.
This is a great message–for 2016. (Dems shoulda realized it then!) In 2020 things are better.

Main beef: Warren says working families hurt over decades because of "whose side government is on." Isn't it mostly a product of deep shifts in development of capitalism? Govt. trade & immigration policies made it worse-but Warren's on the wrong (anti-worker) side of the latter https://t.co/wd1dciEoKG

Warren on the stump is way more … well, pleasant, than Warren in debate. Presents a coherent, unified case. Tells a moving story. Leaves you with a good idea of who she is & what she'll do. I don't buy it, and she's still too Nader-serious, but it's much more complete than Amy. pic.twitter.com/B6eorz7yBF

Judging from the 2 Democratic candidate rallies I saw tonight, Democrats are really fired up to get rid of …Mitch McConnell.
Applause lines about getting rid of Trump don't get nearly as much reaction.

What @NickKristof won't tell you: "Deaths of Despair" FELL in 2018 — under Trump — for what looks like the first time since 2000. Driven by a drop in drug-related deaths, which seems to have continued into 2019. (Still at a high level, but have to start somewhere–see chart.) https://t.co/6a8V23jjNw
