The child dole is clearly designed to become a permanent program. Dems make no bones about that. If it were just temporarily dropping $$ on some people during the pandemic, that'd be fine–though would be simpler to just add to the $1400 checks.

Amazing the number of well-informed people who think Biden plan is just a tax credit, available to people who pay tax, as opposed to a straight check sent to parents whether they work & pay tax or not. Suggests that the proposal might not be so popular if it gets more publicity. https://t.co/9rdBlNilF7

Please tell @JoeManchinWV & @kyrstensinema! I tend to agree a small child allowance (eg $1,500/year per family) might not be that bad. Hard to live on that, even with SNAP. Have to work. But Biden's plan ($6,000+ if 2 kids + $6,400 SNAP + Medicaid) is enough to enable non-work. https://t.co/DJia0gWR6O

He adds he doesn't "see any reason to believe that either the Biden tax credit proposal or the Romney child allowance proposal would have that effect. But what if the benefit was $10,000 a year? Well, then maybe it would." But with 2 kids and food stamps it *is* $10,000 a year.2/
