Agree that partisan state courts aren’t necessarily much better than state legislatures. That’s why I’d ultimately rely on US Supreme Court. At least they are a third-party federal review. Ultimately, solution is to amend Constitution to eliminate role of state legislatures. Until then have to assume SCOTUS will cook up some fancy (14th Amendments? Denying right to vote without Due Process?) grounds for intervening and throwing out the legislature’s bogus slate.
