What if Trump illegally skews the constitutional balance of power between Congress & President in favor of the latter–and voters kind of like it (even as courts block). A signal for constitutional reformers. Our Constitution (even with the unelected 4th branch) too damn slow … https://t.co/DV8ETra5M0

The great thing about @JamesPPinkerton’s “new paradigm” outsourcing is that NGOs are easier to cut off when you don’t need them. In theory. We’ll see. But imagine if all these NGO people were official bureaucrats … https://t.co/M8S2m3HOdI

Do I think that a nominee with Tulsi’s views but not her ambitious guru would be relatively easily confirmed? Yes.

I think that’s what I was trying to get at: The cult stuff gives Senators the heebie-jeebies, but they want it to seem like Tulsi’s in trouble because of her doubts on Syria and Ukraine, where she has (more than) a point. The MSM lets them get away with it. https://t.co/9OE1CNqxuI

If the issue is ‘what do they bring to the table,’ well, Maher brings a lot to the table. If you’re looking for “models” of how Democrats might slide into the Trump camp, or at least the Trump fellow traveler camp, anti-PC Maher is way more valuable than eccentric, erratic Tulsi.

Has the new Trump Coalition gotten a little full of itself, and degenerated into everyone’s favorite pasttime: Making a list of people to invite to the party and then crossing some of them off? Just asking!

What does @realchrisrufo have against @billmaher? And who says Maher wants to join the Trump “new coalition” anyway? https://t.co/ut6W67hwo9 Whole attack on “reasonable centrists” seems weak and a bit pointless.

Nobody wants to talk about sects: Has the Tulsi/Science of Identity issue even come up in her hearings (I haven’t watched)? Or is it a new, open form of undernews: The press can discreetly report about it, people can talk about it–everyone except politicians, at least in public.

I’d say it reflects either total lack of creativity [Potomac Square Group could have given her 5 better answers] or perhaps … troubling deference to her guru dev, except that even Butler must know its a terrible answer. I guess she figures it got her this far …

Tulsi Gabbard’s had decades to come up with a better way to calm fears that she’ll be bossed by her guru dev, Chris Butler, than to label them “Hinduphobic smears.” She seems to have failed. It’s a terrible answer, like dismissing legit questions as “racist.” [links below]
