Here's a PDF on why HR 5038's bad https://t.co/nWSxoBO69s It's a big amnesty for agricultural workers-with a catch: they have to keeping working on farms for years as (basically) indentured servants. Undermines immigration control, maximizes exploitation. Worst-of-both-worlds. https://t.co/REU31R9IEy

Will the Dems be tempted to bend the rules to let Booker debate and avoid the "all-white" charge? (I have no idea, but if they do I want full prescience credit.) https://t.co/9WeRTHgc3e

Not saying Trump necessarily gets credit. Maybe steady improvement started under Obama just reached market-tightening point. Maybe minimum wage laws had an effect. But I'd argue Trump gets at least some credit for restraining the supply of new lower-skilled immigrant workers.

Unemployment rate fell steadily since end of Great Recession-ie beginning of Obama's term. But arc of wage stagnation at the *bottom* did not begin to bend upwards until 2017, under Trump, to judge from this CRS graph. https://t.co/qiIKpvAF44 pic.twitter.com/9gpUSHXAiZ

What does it say about strength of Democrats' current impeachment case that informed anti-Trumpers now pleading for more time, more investigations? https://t.co/NTUrogHWY4

Real wages rising, more at bottom than at top, Inflation low. Marginal workers (ex-cons, disabled) being drawn into employment mainstream. Has any liberal economic commentator admitted that Trump's term is delivering the economy liberals have long wanted? https://t.co/Rwig4xm1nL

Why is it 0% for Hunter Biden? His testimony seems very relevant — if what he did was horribly corrupt then what Trump demanded (an investigation) was in national interest, not his "personal, political interest." So call him & let him dispel stench of influence-peddling (or not) https://t.co/fyLOeSFwoc

It's an indication of the clumsiness of the poll-tested "bribery" charge that Rep. Karen Bass-who's on the Judiciary committee-says the problem is Trump "attempting to bribe" Zelensky. [2:05 in] Isn't it that supposedly Trump solicited a bribe for himself? https://t.co/OXt1ES3ere

Often when people on various forms of welfare are pushed to reconnect with the mainstream economy, they discover they have talents that other people and employers value. (See @JasonDeParle 's American Dream.) This seems a minimal effort to do the pushing. https://t.co/X6Eo2GCLCT

Food stamp work requirements are notoriously weak. This seems like an effort to actually enforce those weak work requirements. 3 months part-time over a period of 3 years doesn't seem like a lot to ask in the current economy. (I felt differently in 2009. It's not 2009 anymore.) https://t.co/3UFF6QPwVs
