Yes, that would seem to be working in Biden’s favor at the moment. According to the Feiler thesis, https://t.co/Imc06ys71P will forget their economic anxiety more quickly than in previous decades. (Also their border anxiety, though it’s hard to believe Biden could pull that off.) https://t.co/Z0sGkUTivC

Biden: “I’ve done all I can do” about border crisis.
Huh? He’s been letting in 100s of thousands of migrants by granting them “parole.” He can stop granting parole.
He does not need a law limiting parole. He doesn’t need Congress. It’s his decision.

That and pressuring Mexico to host them. But Trump succeeded at that, and Biden has been doing pretty well in cutting border deals with Mexico (presumably by threatening that otherwise Trump will be president again). [See @BensmanTodd on that ] https://t.co/tFGhhhtTk1

Aren’t you supposed to be detained until your asylum claim is decided (few win)? This seems to release migrants if they just pass their initial “reasonable fear” screening, which most do. How does this ‘end catch and release,’ as Sinema promises? https://t.co/VGbTbStFDP

But by “works” I mean it curbs the influx. Democrats do not really want to curb the influx. So we throw resources into letting millions in more quickly and efficiently, with better optics. That seems to be animating philosophy of the secret deal, as trumpeted by Greg Sargent.
