The Weiner cache of messages is gaining most of the attention. But Legal Insurrection blogger, Prof Bill Jacobson, posts about the FBI investigation into the Clinton Foundation. Says it’s been ongoing for over a year. (I suspect that DOJ, Loretta Lynch, has tried to slow it down.) Wikileaks releases have been making it impossible for the FBI to keep slow-walking the Foundation probe. The Weiner 650,000 emails also feed into that probe. Andrew McCarthy’s NRO post clarifies the Clinton Foundation probe by the FBI that the Legal Insurrection post discusses. DOJ AG Loretta Lynch’s old NY US District Attorney’s office stonewalled the FBI’s investigation into the pay-for-play investigation of the FBI. It’s not clear what role Comey played in this drama. My reading of the NRO post is that this pay-for-play is what motivated Clinton to set up her private home-brew server (of course). The high visibility violation of classified material handling is a fallout of that real motivation. DOJ, Obama, the Clintons had figured they’d see this “investigation” peter out & go away.
