If like NYT you have a smooth-running operation that reliably churns out subscriber-pleasing anti-GOP heds then maybe, like an Open Claw, it doesn’t need much top-level supervision. Maybe CBS was like that, which could be why reporters seem to feel changing heds violates UN human rights protocols.
