“DEAL” FETISH: I don’t understand this push for a “deal” formalizing some sort of surrender by Iran on the nuclear issue. Will they abide by a deal? Maybe, maybe not. Can we bomb their nuke facilities again if they resume that project, whether or not there’s a deal? Yes. What does the pursuit of a deal get us, except more war and a photo op?
