Mickey, hoping you do a post on Trump tape story which I’ve been thinking about since hearing reporter Sue Carswell on Kelly last night. She said she lost that tape changing homes years ago. So, did WAPO get it “anonymously” from someone who broke into Carswell’s home years ago?

Nooo! Carswell and Kelly deduce another scenario, one in line with you write about media fantasms about Trump to avoid the potency of the immigration issue: Trump himself – playing John Miller – was also taping the call and he sent it to WAPO. Because this is Trump’s genius at “controlling the news cycle” so that they don’t talk about his taxes or his butler (which they did plenty of talking about really).

Carswell’s story is she took a call from an unknown “John Miller,” talked to him at length about his knowledge of various celebrities of time, but she didn’t bother to get a contact number from him. But she remembers every jot and tittle of that call today. It seems to me very odd that she is also saying she did something so cruel as to call Marla Maples and play the call to her. That is admitting to being a bad person.

For the record, “John Miller” sounds like Trump the same way my late father sounded like Trump. Both grew up in Queens. When I hear Trump call someone a stiff, thats just how my Dad sounded.
