Is it accepted that opposition to data centers isn’t just opposition to data centers (eg noise, energy consumption) but opposition to the AI world they’ll bring. Proponents desperately need a better campaign to persuade the public they want to live in that world. Start with curing cancer. But even that’s not enough if there are no jobs. Needs an effective spokesperson–less Sam Altman, more Carl Sagan. (Forget Trump, who polarizes and seems to have forgotten about the need to persuade voters about his big decisions).
