Yes, it looks like Anthropic is trying to do the thing free traders and market “neoliberals”–and anybody else–conspicuously failed to do, which is to compensate the losers from changes that makes society richer. Even if you could distribute money to “specific populations,” it saps human pride to be on the dole. You lose your job but you get to be dependent on Anthropic’s mega-charity. Sunny future ahead!
